How CiviqPass writes and checks its questions and guides
CiviqPass is independent practice material for the Spanish nationality exams. This page says where the content comes from, how a practice question is written and how we keep it up to date.
Where the facts come from
Facts about the law and the procedure come from the texts themselves, not from another preparation site.
- Código Civil (articles 22 and 23), Real Decreto 1004/2015 and Orden JUS/1625/2016, as published on boe.es.
- The circular of the Dirección General de Seguridad Jurídica y Fe Pública of 5 March 2021 on the oath, from the Ministry of Justice: mjusticia.gob.es.
- The Instituto Cervantes (cervantes.org/es/examenes), which designs and runs the CCSE and the DELE, for the format of the tests.
- The Constitution of 1978 on boe.es and other public pages for the mock questions.
Each guide lists its sources at the top, with the date we read them. The statements behind the nationality-file guides are also published as open data, one CSV and one JSON file. If you help people prepare for the CCSE and run a web page, you can put the free mock on it. The table of years, exams and fee by origin is open data too.
The practice questions in numbers
The free CCSE mock draws on 199 questions in five areas: Government and institutions (40); Rights and duties (40); Territory and geography (40); Culture and history (39); Society and everyday life (40). Each question links to one public page, shown under its explanation. Together they are 57 pages on 14 public sites, and 141 of the 199 questions cite a page on boe.es. On 19 October 2026, 57 of the 57 pages answered when we requested them.
How a question is written
- We pick one fact on a public page, for example an article of the Constitution.
- We write the question and its options ourselves, with one correct answer. They are drawn from public texts, and the Instituto Cervantes manual is linked on each page.
- We copy the sentence of the page that supports the answer, word for word, into the question's record. A check rejects the question if that sentence is not on the cited page.
- We write the explanation from that sentence, in each language of the mock, and show the link to the page.
How we keep it up to date
- Before each release that touches the questions we request every source page and record the date. That date is on the home page.
- We re-read the law pages behind the guides once a month, and sooner when a rule changes. Each guide shows the date it was last read.
- When an official site is down, we keep the date of the last time we read it and do not fill the gap from memory.
What the mock is for
Our mock names the area to study next; the real exam is set by the Instituto Cervantes. CiviqPass is an independent practice service.
Corrections
If an answer, a date or a translation looks wrong, write to support@civiqpass.com with the page or the question. We check it against the cited source and write back with the result. If the page was wrong, we correct it and change its date.
Who is behind it
CiviqPass is run by an individual resident in Spain. The legal notice gives their name and postal address, and the privacy page says what data we keep and for how long.
